The Canadian Fire Rescue College (CFRC) is pleased to announce that we had a successful testing and evaluation of several classes at the Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS) Poundmaker Training Facility. The classes spent two days fighting fire in this seven story concrete burn structure equipped with propane gas fire props and simulated smoke. The state of the art live-fire props were put to good use, and the experience gained by the students was only equalled by the amount of fun had fighting fire!
The NFPA 1001 Firefighter levels 1 and 2, NFPA 1072 Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations levels, and NFPA 1041 Emergency Services Instructor level 1 were all tested and evaluated on this weekend. All students passed their practical evaluations, and are awaiting their official test scores. If successful, students will receive Pro Board® certifications from the Province of Alberta's office of Municipal Affairs.
These students previously successfully completed their online and practical training components before taking part in this testing and evaluation weekend. During the practical component, students responded to several serious emergency callouts and actively participated in life-saving interventions.
Thank you for your service, we hope you enjoyed your educational program.
Well done students, and a big thanks to the instructors, evaluators, and support staff!
