Canadian Fire Rescue College has a long-standing commitment to academic excellence and to preparing students with the practical skills required for successful careers in the fire service and emergency response. CFRC is a fully licensed Alberta Private Vocational College, and is also recognized as a Certified Educational Institution and a Designated Learning Institution as designated by the Government of Canada. Our fire academy is listed in the Canadian Indigenous Business Directory and is a trade member of the Alberta Fire Chiefs Association, reinforcing our alignment with industry standards and the Canadian fire service.

Canadian Fire Rescue College operates from a purpose-built training campus located in Red Deer County, offering a focused environment for firefighter and emergency services education in central Alberta. The campus includes dedicated classroom and administrative space, on-site student accommodation, and access to practical training areas that support hands-on learning. Optional on-campus meal services and essential amenities allow students to focus fully on their training while benefiting from a setting designed to support immersive, career-ready education.

Canadian Fire Rescue College provides free, on-site student accommodation to support students during their firefighter and emergency services training. Single-occupancy rooms and shared facilities are available on campus, allowing students to focus on learning, rest, and performance without the added stress of securing housing. Accommodation is available to enrolled CFRC students as part of their overall training experience.
Pre-service firefighter training aligned with NFPA 1001 Firefighter I & II and NFPA 470 Hazmat Awareness and Operations. This program combines online theory with hands-on, on-campus training to prepare candidates for firefighter recruitment and entry-level structural firefighting roles across Canada.
NFPA 470 Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations training for firefighters, emergency responders, and industrial personnel. This program prepares participants to recognize hazardous materials incidents, establish scene control, protect life and the environment, and operate safely within an incident command structure.
Wildland firefighter training focused on wildfire and wildland-urban interface (WUI) operations. This program offers NFPA 1140 Wildland Firefighter Level I and BC Wildfire Service S-100 and S-185 certification options, emphasizing fire behavior, suppression techniques, firefighter safety, and field-based operational skills.
NFPA 1002 Driver/Operator and Pump Operator training is designed for firefighters seeking apparatus driving and pump operations certification. This program develops the technical knowledge and practical skills required to safely operate pumping apparatus, manage water supply, and perform fireground pumping operations.
NFPA 1041 Emergency Services Instructor training for firefighters and fire officers involved in training delivery and program development. Offered at Instructor Level I and II, this program builds instructional, evaluation, and leadership skills required to safely teach and manage emergency services training programs.
Leadership training aligned with NFPA 1021 Fire Officer Level I and II. This program prepares firefighters for officer roles involving personnel supervision, incident command, and operational decision-making, supporting career progression into company- and multi-company leadership positions within the fire service.
Canadian Red Cross Advanced First Aid training designed for workplace first aid attendants and emergency responders providing extended patient care. This in-person course emphasizes patient assessment, trauma and medical emergencies, and prolonged care scenarios.
Canadian Red Cross–certified Standard First Aid and CPR Level C training for the public, workplace responders, and emergency services candidates. This in-person course covers essential first aid skills and CPR and is a prerequisite for many advanced emergency training programs.
